I guess I’ve been a director since the time my parents decided to buy me a hi8 videocamera when I was 12, and I never really stopped since then. I’ve been doing this professionally since 2010 and still love every minute of it!
For me, it doesn’t really matter what genre or style we shoot, as long as the story we’re telling is either very funny or very true. Basically, anything between Old Spice silliness and heartwarming Ikea family charm. (And wherever I can insert some puppetry, anamorphic lenses or the fantastical world of childlike imagination: I probably will.)
Oh! And I also wrote a book. Two books! For ages 10 and up. Both parts of De Zeven Sleutels (The Seven Keys) will be coming out in Holland and Belgium, in 2023.
